Fairview is located in Washington County, Virginia, and we have an affinity for all things “Washington”! Washington County was one of the first counties in the nation to be named in honor of our nation’s founder, George Washington. When we were incorporated by the Virginia House of Delegates in December 1776, George Washington was then General Washington, leading the Continental Army against the British during the War for American Independence.
With our close connection to President Washington, the “Father of our Country”, we will celebrate Washington’s birthday at Fairview! Please join us for a day honoring George Washington on Friday, February 19. Technically speaking, Washington’s birthday is February 22, but we don’t think he’ll mind if we celebrate a few days early, do you? At 11:30 a.m., we’ll have a special story for the younger set, followed by a George Washington craft! Join us for a party for all ages at 3:30 p.m.! We’ll talk about George (and Martha’s) connections to Washington County, Virginia and celebrate George’s legacy!
